Pieter Weening finished in fourth place in the Trofeo Andratx – Lloseta, the second Trofeo of the Challenge Mallorca. Due to the bad weather this Trofeo was marred by a lot of falls. Unfortunately Elmar Reinders didn’t come out of the race unscathed.

Senne Leysen said he “didn’t really have the right legs”, but completed the race. “It’s good to have the miles in the legs.” The youngster tells the story of this Trofeo Andratx – Lloseta, with the Coll de Puig Major, a col of first category, as main obstacle. “The weather was bad and the roads were slippery, there were a lot of crashes. At the foot of the Puig Major lots of riders crashed out. That’s where the race really started.”

“Peter came fourth and rode a strong race, he came back a few times from a lost position because of those crashes. Elmar crashed too, unfortunately. He had to be taken to hospital. Jesper got away with abrasions. It was super slippery!”
